Foreword

By AXEL

Dear divine brothers and sisters of the Universe,

We had a Sunyoga Basic workshop in Junagadh in April with almost 200 participants. There was an excellent response from the seminar, which was very successful, and you can read more about it in this number.

We are pleased that Sunyogi got his Schengen visa to travel to Europe and South and Central America. For May, he plans to do an expedition in the Amazonian Jungle, and we are all eager to see what will unfold. A small group of dedicated Sunyoga students will guide him. Next, he will travel to Mexico to give a Basic Sunyoga Course. This will be the start of his World Tour for 2023.

Sincerely,

Axel and The Editorial Board

Om Anand Om.

Report from Sunyoga Workshop Junagadh 14-16 April

Sunyoga Workshop in Junagadh.

There was a fabulous experiential 3-Day Workshop for beginners of Sunyoga Level 1,  2  & 3 from 14th April to 16th April 2023 at the lap of Holy Siddha Nagari Girnar (Junagadh) of Gujarat, India.

The venue was at Amba Bhagat ni Jagya, with all facilities in a very hygienic environment surrounded by the natural beauty of Girnar Forest and mountain.

One hundred eighty-four participants had experienced the Beauty of Sunyoga directly blessed by our revered Great Master Sunyogi Umasankar Ji.

Sadhaks from different parts of India participated in this workshop viz. Gujarat, Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamilnadu,  North East Nepal Boarder, etc.

On the 1st day of the workshop, all Participants applied their logical minds and tried hard to capture the subject matter, as many theory parts were to be grasped by the participants.

Sunyogi Umasankar ji was to care for all participants with his familiar smiling face, like a fearless Lion but with a lot of unconditional love and compassion.

On the 2nd Day of the Workshop, all participants mentally surrendered themselves before Swamiji, but still, some invisible resistance from their logical minds was with them.

By the end of the 3rd Day of the Workshop, all participants were thrilled and had a stillness among them, as if everybody had experienced a high state of cosmic consciousness for a few moments. They were engrossed with the words of Swamiji, explaining his own experience of the Law of Creation, the Thrilling Moment while meeting Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, the divine moment of receiving the blessing of Mahavatar Babaji to him, his barefoot traveling experiences and his initiation and about the mission of his life through Universal Peace Centre.

Having realized the dedication and selfless service of Sunyogi towards Humanity, all creatures in this world, and all about the Universe, all participants greeted Sunyogi with clapping, and all applauded with loud uttering Har Har Mahadev, Sunyogi Umasankar ji ki Jai, Mahavatar Babaji ki Jai.

It was an indication from all participants of great respect and love towards Swamiji. All were glad to experience his charismatic and magnetic personality and bowed their heads to pay respect and unconditional love to him.

Each day started at 6 am and ended at 8 pm. All Sadhaks were very much impressed with how Swamiji explained Agnihotra. All participated wholeheartedly in the fire offering with Agnihotra Mantras at a specified time.

There were 40 Agnihotra vessels systematically arranged so that 4 to 5 Sadhaks could share each Agnihotra Vessel for their fire offering.

The Sunyoga Exercises were fascinating and were followed by Sunyoga Meditation and Savasana.

The Sun Meditation came next, where Sunyogi emphasized that aiming must be towards Self-realization.

During the entire course, there was very delicious food during break time: tea, Breakfast, Raw Food, Fruits, and a tasty full meal at night.

Testimonies Sunyoga Workshop Junagadh 14-16 April

The followings are some beautiful Experiences and Feedback from the Participants:

  1. Before the workshop, one Pune participant had severe headaches while being outside and could not bear the Sunray touching her body. After the workshop, she can go outside easily and has no problem being exposed to Sunray. Even during Sun Meditation at the workshop, she had experienced the vision of some deities, which made her more self-confident.
  2. The young guy Jhil from the Una District of Gujarat was in a profound Samadhi state and felt like an electric current was passing through his body. He was thrilled about this experience and was enjoying it.
  3. Many Sadhaks expressed that they could feel now a close connection with their Guru than before.
  4. The most potent aspect of the workshop was that all participants could overcome their fear of the myth of damaging the eye if they gazed at the sun for a long time. Everyone has no problem enjoying Sun Meditation, even for 45 minutes continuously.
  5. P. B Sapra, the retired police officer of the Gujarat Government, could notice a change and see the letters projected on the screen more clearly with the naked eye rather than spectacle. He tried with glass to see the letter, which was blurred. Before the workshop, he was using glass to read any letter.

All participants are doing their practice enthusiastically and eagerly awaiting the next higher course of Sunyoga after six months of sincere training.

We pay our heartiest respect to Mahavatar Babaji and Revered Sunyogi Umasankar Ji for their unconditional love for making us thrilled with the Dance of Cosmic Consciousness within the workshop.

Thank you All.

General information about Sunyoga Courses and Teachers

We want to bring more clarity to people who wish to learn Sunyoga. Sunyoga has seven levels of courses. The first three levels can all be done if you come as a beginner, so level 2 will include both levels 1 and 2. In the level 3 course (Basic Course), level 1 and level 2 are included.

Beginners cannot do Sunyoga level 4 (Advanced Course). For that, you must have finished the level 3 course and dedicated at least six months of sincere Sunyoga practice.

The level 1 and 2 course is elementary for practitioners to start practicing Sunyoga. The level 3 course is needed to get real fundamentals and prepare for higher levels of Sunyoga. So the level 3 course we recommend for all students who want to take the Sunyoga practice seriously. This also means that our most competent teachers are the ones that are allowed and certified to teach from level 3 and up. However, we have Sunyoga level 1 and 2 teachers worldwide to support and help you start the practice.

We are very strict about who can teach Sunyoga, and teacher certification is only valid for a year. So for every year, it has to be updated. We plan to have Sunyoga teacher courses to spread the knowledge of Sunyoga and share which teachers we have so it will be more accessible to learn Sunyiga worldwide. We plan to have one teacher training course in India at the end of September this year. To qualify for the course, you must have finished Sunyoga Level 4 and practiced for at least a year after that.

Report from 2023 Universal Peace Conference Day 1 Part 2:

“Opening/Nari Shakti Energy,” “Practice Makes Perfect,” “Global Art Exhibition,” “Magical Natural Science” (Download full pdf for day 1, part 1 and 2)

By Seava/aka Lisa J. Wolf, M.F.A.

The First Day’s Session of the Universal Peace Conference continued on “Indian Yoga Technology” moderated by Dr. Vikas Saxena began with speaker Siddhant Rishi Prabhakar, described by Dr. Vikas as an aspiring world leader bringing forward global sustainable solutions who promotes human potential and wishes to bring about a paradigm shift in the holistic ecosystems through commerce and consciousness. He combines modern and ancient yoga technology and runs several programs.

Siddhant framed his presentation by relating that “everything we experience in modern day India” is an “outcome of ancient yoga practices.” He spoke of things that have impacted him deeply such as the texts written centuries ago in ancient times. “The very interesting part about the scriptures,” Siddhant said, “is that times have changed, yet every single era” finds “ways to find instances in all these texts and scriptures and find meaning in our life,” reflecting on the enduring power of the Upanishads and Vedas. Siddhant is happy that people across the world are influenced by Indian wisdom and the lineage of kriya yoga, which all comes from the point of inception that branch out into different expressions. “The starting point and end point are the same, noting that modern organizations birthed over the past 60 to 70 years have the same inception.

“If we look at consciousness and mindfulness,” Siddhant noted that Indian spirituality has contributed to a dawn of new civilization even as conflicts arise.

Siddhant is happy to contribute to the growth of consciousness, mindfulness and awareness. “There are many narratives that all of us live in,” including Abrahamic monotheistic religions, while in India there is the concept of consciousness over-arching everything.

Siddhant noted, “Our planet is a circular globe” and all spiritual traditions have been spreading around the world for a long time. “For us now, it is time to detach from the concept” that yoga is limited to South Asia, pointing out that while Ayurveda as an institutionalized form of medicine in India, in South America in the Amazon plant-based medicines have also been used traditionally for healing purposes and also reflect a yogic path. “There is so much similarity.”

Siddhant remarked that the connectivity of the globe can be understood through the concept of yoga and yoga practices. He noted that the pyramids spread around the world show the earth has long been “one big community of people all around the world connected” with “over arching roots all across the planet.” Siddhant noted how fortunately yogic practices were kept alive even after colonialism and “day after day” through the influences of the ancient texts with methodologies emerging to meet the needs of the time.

“The spiritual simplicity of our texts and scriptures” are applicable to life in every moment, Siddhant affirmed, expressing the hope that as Indian yogic practices continue to be detached from institutional structures it will allow “ourselves to create more possibilities” through yogic practices and sacred texts.

Asked about the unification of east and west, Siddhant noted, “In India we are not that focused on the outcome, we are focused on the journey” while in the west “outcome as evidence is something” that “is very much focused on.” While in India people have been meditating for centuries, for meditation to be accepted as therapeutic and helpful, people from western countries do brain scans while yogis are meditating. People from India have an attitude of devotion and surrender and don’t question the practices while proof is most important in the Western world where evidence “is everything.” As an example, he noted, in the west, if scientific studies say meditation is beneficial everyone will be behind it.

Siddhant related that when teachers like Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Osho and Muktananda went abroad, they simplified yoga for the masses and presented eastern wisdom in a way that doesn’t feel religious or spiritual. All of the institutionalized programs have little to do with the scriptures directly but have abstracted themselves from the religion.

He saw it as a yin/yang balance and sees Indians going abroad having an opportunity to bring forward broad narratives so globalization and the rise of social media is helping the equilibrium of thought between east and west.

“The human mind” is “full of conflict” and looking for “clarity,” and Siddhant said masters like Maharishi and Osho when they went abroad characterized mindfulness practices like kriya as taking practitioners to ecstasy and leading to a sense of godliness, enabling access to the “greater source.” Siddhant said, “If we perceive ourselves as the computer and our mind as the software,” our bodies and minds may not be able to comprehend” what ‘God is” and “few people may dive deeper to understand the meaning of life.” People want “a feel good practice” and “there’s nothing right or wrong about that.”

Dr. Vikas agreed, noting that when people go on weekend yoga retreats, even such baby steps have lead to discussions on quantum consciousness in society and science.

Next to speak was Subhashish Acharya, a Harvard Business School graduate, whose evolutionary technology works to merge science and spirituality. Subha has always studied the esoteric sciences and noted he has realized “peace is not easy to find” because “our society is intellectual” which “removes us from the real wisdom which is in the heart” as we face a world moving towards transhumanism with humans seen by scientists as “hackable animals.”

Subha thinks that is “bs” and that this is the time to come together as we face the real Armageddon, which is going to “be about algorithms versus beings.”

Subha characterized his work as original and non-dogmatic, converging information to reach the “aha moment” as he explores teachings from the ancient world which are “a code,” and he explores layers of the onion.

“We are explorers” who “represent our species” and we must “bring back good ideas,” Subha affirmed, relating that the world is in crisis “because of the absence of consciousness.” (Terrence McKenna).

Subha affirmed “We will never understand peace until we understand the value of complexity. The simplification of yoga for the masses does not reflect the complexity of reality” and the layers of information.

Subha sees himself as a synthesizer bringing forth truths to be highlighted. He showed a picture of the 54 devas and asuras churning the ocean for honey. “We must join hands and work together,” Subha said.

He asked, “Why do we have problems?” and said it is because “we are disconnected from ourselves and consciousness.” Subha noted globally unhappiness and doubt are rising with the mind being the biggest problem as the mind always divides. “Our problem in society is the absence of self reflection.” People believe they can do whatever they want leading to self-destruction. “You can’t expect to build a higher ‘evolving’ society with our ‘lowest selves,” Subha related. “It doesn’t work.”

The obstacle to rapid transformation, Subha said is that “we don’t understand the external world and the internal world are one and the same.” He noted, “What we experience outside is what we experience inside.”

Subha said, “There are cycles after cycles,” with the true yoga, the true union involving cycles everywhere, micro and macro, going on again and again. “What happens is these cycles changes our consciousness” and as “consciousness changes” our “actions change” and then “cycles are seen in the external world” and are “predicted and can be predictable.”

If we “don’t understand these cycles” we “keep on repeating it across our lineage.” Subha related that the ancients knew about these cycles and if we don’t know about these cycles we can’t unite ourselves with it, “which is the true meaning of yoga.”

To illustrate his point, Subha explained Bitcoin rises during new moon and falls during full moon as our “consciousness drops during full moon.” He showed how during the new moon stocks rise and during full moon they drop; reflecting cycles. He showed a chart of economic upheavals that follow 54-year cycles; pointing out awareness of these cycles is fundamental to understanding consciousness and is important because the sun and moon system are electromagnetic both controlling the tides of oceans and our bodies which are made of water. Looking deeper, Subha said, we must be careful not to have the mind control us and showed how the mind creates problems. “Our brain and our mind always create a problem.” Subha noted, “Perception, that is the problem.” Subha said being intellectual in the world doesn’t work because “in reality,” matter is “99.999% open space” and “reality is created in our minds.” We are “in a hologram and the brain creates reality,” which the ancients knew.

Subha explained that humans only see a small bit of the light spectrum and noted most people never reflect on what cosmic rays are doing and how the light coming from the zodiac and the sun and moon affect us. Subha noted that the sun/moon system moves the spinal fluid up and down and changes our consciousness and our psyche moves like the cycles in a year. “Imagine what happens to our magnetic fields” inside our bodies and heart and nerves. “Since we only see a small part of the electromagnetic spectrum,” it looks like the energy of stars and planets within us. “This is the most important thing.” We “cannot just believe in our five senses.”

Finally, Subha spoke of the power of waves, which can break a bridge and “when the right waves come together” it creates resonance and “we can either go up or down” because “waves can create magic.”

Subha asked, “Why are all the cities on the east coast in a straight line?” and explained it is because the earth has magnetic fields that move through the cities, which attract people. The earth is divided into magnetic areas and the ancients mapped it onto the surface.

He noted the city of Las Vegas is mapped based on the constellation Lyra, also known as the eagle and is related to an astronomical map. All of this knowledge is coded into hermeticism and they “put all this information inside all these different archetypes.”

Turning to India, he noted the temples of India are a micro and macrocosm. “Our ancestors knew all this” and took the eight dimensional universe and put it on the “ceiling of the temple” in 3D so if you “map all these things at the top of the temple, “ Subha noted, “we get these different octaves perfectly.”

Subha explained the ancients took the dimensions of the universe and mapped them into the temples since the ancients understood the real science. Showing an image of two circles, and revealed, “The circumference of the outer circles minus the circumference of the inner circle, it is equal to the speed of light.”

These are consciousness patterns and an absolute astronomic plot that keeps consciousness aligned, Subha remarked. “Time is where we need to unite,” Subha affirmed, noting that humans have “eight energies,” but our “weekday is seven.” Subha noted the 54 asuras and 54 devas are a 108 year cycle with cycles of 18 years and 6 days. Subha explained, “Each Mahashivratri cycle has 13 lunar cycles of 18 years, which are the cycles of sun/moon/earth alignment inside of us” with 54-year cycles of dark and light.

“We are headed for certain cycles,” Subha cautioned, including a 45 year Innovation Cycle which will see the rise of AI and Humanitarian Economics and a restructuring of Human Experience including from 2025 to 2052 an Age of Digital Twins paired with an Age of Communication and Expression; from 2032 to 2042, an Age of Artificial Fertility and an Age of Creativity; followed by an Age of Fantasy and Space and Intuition. “We have to be very careful of the times that we are coming, because technology is exponential but human development is very linear, so we have to be very careful of the 45 year Innovation Cycle that is coming and technology is very mind-based and mind-controlled.” Subha cautioned we must be careful “that technology should not control us so that our society is not divided.”

“If we can unite with these cycles we can make massive changes to our life.” Subha said, “Let us unite with the cycles.”

Next, Vikas Saxena was honored to introduce D.R. Kaarthikeyan, who was born in a small humble agricultural family and was the former Director of the Indian Central Bureau of Investigation as well as Director of the International Human Rights Commission. Kaarthiikeyan has a degree in chemistry and also a law degree and has been an Advocate of the Bar Council of Madras. He is well known in India because as the Director of the Human Rights Commission, he headed, and wrote a book on, the investigation that broke the Gandhi assassination case, a landmark case in India. D.R. Kaarthiikeyan has been closely associated with Sri Umasankar since 2006.

D.R. Kaarthiikeyan wished everyone a good evening and turned his attention to the disturbances in the world and nations. “We keep talking about Peace, and, on the other hand, responsible leaders are precipitating war. You know Ukraine and Russia, and many other conflicts are going on.”

D.R.K. remarked that “thousands and thousands of people are getting killed for nothing. Just for the ego of one or a few leaders” who are “creating enmity between the people. They forget, ultimately, in creation there is perfect harmony.” Dr. K. noted that whatever you call ‘God,’ “ultimately that divinity in any religion is the embodiment of peace and harmony and we are all children of the same Divine.”

Dr. K. noted while we may be of different colors and nationalities, “Ultimately the whole purpose” of spirituality “is the attainment of peace and happiness.” D.R.K. said, “Everyone on the planet” wants happiness, which “cannot be only for me or you.” Like in the body, if one part is diseased “the whole body suffers.” Where there is violence or unhappiness it affects everyone; like in a family, the same applies to nations and the world. One person cannot dominate or be violent towards others or there will be no peace or harmony. “Trying to get peace within the body, mind, and soul” cannot come when everyone is fighting one another and proving somebody else is wrong. “If I am unhappy, my family cannot be happy” and if the family is not in harmony the society or nations cannot be peaceful. “No use talking about world peace and having global conferences” because “we are approaching from the wrong end.” Everything “has to start within each one of us.” Unless we care for each other, and have compassion for each other, how can any nation be peaceful? D.R.K. asked, especially with nations leading their people to think some other nation should be destroyed.

D.R.K. reflected on Sunyoga and how the sun is the “ultimate source of energy and power” that “shines for everybody, for every country.” D.R.K. noted that without sunlight “all forms of life would perish.”

D.R.K. noted that “no matter what you call the Creator” ultimately even the smallest life forms are important. “Don’t think something small is not important.” He reminded that all life is interrelated and cautioned against thinking that the “human race is all important.” Humans “are only one species,” he cautioned, “with a little more intelligence.”

But while animals are content with their existence, man “has a higher purpose so man can get more than physical pleasure.”

D.R.K. encouraged listeners to be non-discriminating against people like Sunyogi and to respect everyone’s right to exist in their own way.

“What is the purpose of my life and your life? That is the purpose of spirituality” and he cautioned, “Unless we heal ourselves, we cannot heal others. We have done a lot of damage to the environment unlike our ancestors.”

He observed, “This present generation has been so selfish, unmindful” of “the damage we are doing to nature, to the future generations. We are all exploiting nature” and are making processes that pollute the waters and air and polluting the food we are eating.

“The time has come or it’s too late” and we must “wake up” and think “right thoughts” which are “good for us and others.” Then, “essential spiritual qualities like caring for others, sharing what we have and a life of devotion” with “gratitude to the Creator,” nature, your parents and ancestors will help heal ourselves and Mother Earth.

“Gratitude is the most important thing,” he advised, stressing that positivity brings good health and counseled that negative thoughts are responsible for incurable and chronic diseases. “So, positivity brings joy and good health. Be positive. Be kind to people” and to yourself and your own body.

“God lives in each of us,” D.R.K. noted. “Keep the temple clean, healthy and vibrant where the God resides; then you have joy, happiness, environment is protected.”

Whatever form of meditation is practiced, D.R.K. avowed, “Ultimately, the purpose of life is happiness” and it “is on our hands.” Each person can “go within” and “when you are deeply inside” think “only positive thoughts.” While many problems are difficult, “start within you.”

D.R.K. affirmed that if “each one of us takes responsibility for ourselves” we can “reverse this dangerous process.” D.R.K. enjoined, “You have the power to transform your life into heaven. Do it. Have the confidence and do it.” Saving Mother Earth and the planet is in our hands; he affirmed and said, “Each one of us can do it.”

During the Question and Answer period, Vikas Saxena asked the speakers about the impact of world leaders, and D.R.K. noted that the people elect leaders and he encouraged people to vote “according to your conscience” and whether you believe they will do justice and not be corrupt.

Vikas Saxena pointed out the importance of religious leaders and D.R.K. noted religious leaders should not speak ill of other religions because all are born of great masters, making all religions the same: “The divinity is within you. You realize it by spiritual practices” and cautioned that “all religions are valued” but “the propaganda is false to say my religion” is better than another. People who want to kill others because of their religion, are D.R.K. noted “irreligious.”

Asked about the impact of cycles, Siddhant related he feels a tremendous shift coming up and some feel very heavy and others very light. This led to a discussion of Indian spiritual organizations.

Subha reiterated that the solution lies in finding peace within ourselves. “If everybody cleaned their part of the street, the whole world would be cleaned.”

Siddhant pointed out in recent years teachings on how to manipulate the negative powers are being taught and couched as mysticism. Siddhant noted that spiritual organizations and institutions play an important role in society that “are in the gray” and not “in the black and white.”

The importance of change coming from the grassroots level was stressed. With Subha noting, “The grassroots movement starts with oneself” and reflects a necessary movement “from insanity to sanity” and to a “more centered approach.

Lalitha Ramdas asked about the role of spiritual leaders in the future.

Subha answered that the next level of spiritual leader is one who makes spiritual practical progress such as in industry, in ourselves, with our children, progress in every area of life. “A leader is not somebody who gives instruction and doesn’t follow it themselves.” Spiritual leaders are like the Pied Piper who lead people to safety during times of disaster.

Siddhant discussed the effect of spiritual leaders dictating in politics. He saw highly polarized politics with extremities becoming the middle ground. Siddhant said emerging spiritual leaders face large institutional yoga organizations, which have become commercial and about money.

D.R.K. noted spirituality must be practical in bringing people together and to teach people to build their physical and emotional and spiritual health. Spiritual leaders need to bring people together and create harmony and find common points. We are to “save the planet for ourselves and future generations.”

Subha agreed, saying, “Anything that divides us does not unite us.”

Day 1 concluded with “Turtle Island Heartsongs,” with the first guest being Michael DiMartino, Interfaith Minister, who asked to wait five minutes to finish charging his solar power system. He expressed how honored he was to be part of the Peace Conference. Azul Vivienne, an initiate of Swami Sri Umasankar for many years, introduced herself as living in Mexico and related that with the changes going on on the planet it is important to connect to the Mother Earth, to our hearts and to each other. She is studying non-violent communication, which she sees as key to understanding how we can provide peace to ourselves and others. “Peace is about authenticity,” Azul related.

Michael began by speaking of the rise of the Divine Mother paradigm and of his practice of Nada Yoga, the voice of God, noting he does a lot of work with the sun and appreciated the current opportunity to get solar downloads of information that are coming through on Planet Earth and through his music shares spiritual frequencies to help usher in a new way of being aligned with the Divine Mother.

Michael joined the Peace Conference from Crestone, Colorado, the ‘Shambhalla of North America,’ with 21 spiritual centers.

Playing the harmonium, he invited the listeners “to come on a sacred journey, to become present in the here and now as we awaken to our spiritual destiny, to midwife to the new earth, this new humanity, this new paradigm, this covenant of spiritual unity on Planet Earth.”

After striking a Tibetan singing bowl, Michael began with a song to honor Turtle Island and to honor the medicine people and ancestors of this land and the elementals with a song for the Ancestors, played on a flute, a “prayer for the regeneration of these sacred lands.” Due to sound quality difficulties, Michael’s sharing was cut short, but his intentions were well communicated.

Azul Vivienne, based in Mexico, continues learning and participating in Indigenous healing ceremonies. She comes from a long-line of Trinidadian solid women’s healers and nurturers lineage. A world traveller, consultant and regenerative landscape designer, she is a sacred song carrier and student of nonviolent communication and is passionate about food, climate, medicine and restoring Mother Earth and restoring humanity’s connection to what is Sacred for all. For more than 10 years she has been learning sacred songs that carry the memory of our Planet’s ancestral relatives.

She began with a song from Mexico honoring Mother Earth. Next she shared a Haudenosaunee song taught her by Lawrence Laughing, (whom she recommended finding on YouTube) about honoring all the medicines of the Earth that honor the Mother and giving thanks for all the good creation we have here today and for the present, the past and the future.

Next Azul Vivienne shared a song from the Yawanawa, the people of the heart of the Amazon, who have been protecting the jungle, protecting an important healing center on Earth. Azul related, “It is a song of peace” honoring the guardians of the Amazon,

Azul sang another Yawanawa song about encouragement: “We can do it. That is what this song is about.”

The next to share sacred song was Michael Mandan who introduced himself as from Turtle Island. He related that his mother is from Montana and his father is from North Dakota. He is part Nakota and Assiniboine and Mandan and Hadassa and he calls himself NeweDa, “that’s what my people call themselves and, yeah, I just feel very honored to be here today so thank you for having me and I thank Creator for all my blessings, for this time.” The first song was short as he didn’t know the full version but it “is a very, very old song.” Accompanying himself on hand drum with a stick, Michael sang a traditional song. “That’s an old one from way back.”

Michael also played a song by Randy Wood titled “Just a Little Northern Cree.”

Next to share was Seava who began by singing Yogananda chants, Who Tells Me Thou Art Dark Oh My Mother Divine, Mother I Give You My Soul, Om Babaji/Om Mataji and I am Om and Who Is In My Temple as well as her songs I Love You Like the Mountains Love the Plains, and Long Ago And Far Away.

Azul next sang a song from the Ombassa of Brazil about peace and uniting all the Tribes of the Rising Sun and honors the female warriors of light, a mixture of the three tribes of Africa, the European and the Indigenous. She also sang a bhajan honoring the sacred masculine and feminine and waters of the Ganges and Yamuna.

Next Michael sang a Cree song called Red and White about love followed by Seava who sang Mother I Feel You Under My Feet, and the Strong Women’s Warrior Song dedicated to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and the Om Tryambakam.

Azul next sang a Haudenosaunee song about the Mother, followed by a song honoring the bees. “Without the bees we can’t eat very many foods.” Michael Mandan closed the Universal Peace Conference Day 1 with a very old song his father taught him.

Om Anand Om.

Sunyoga workshop in Junagadh.

Foreword

Foreword

Report from Sunyoga Workshop Junagadh 14-16 April

Foreword

Report from Sunyoga Workshop Junagadh 14-16 April
