The Origin of Sunyoga

One early morning in 1995, Sunyogi Umasankar went to the seashore in Pondicherry. As he started his meditation, he became attracted to the reflection of the Sun in the seawater and had an enlightening experience. He then looked directly into the Sun and was surprised the energy he received from the Sun made him free from food and water. This was the discovery of Sunyoga.

In 2007 Sunyogi met Mahavatar Babaji for the first time. He came to know Babaji had been guiding him silently throughout his life. The method of Sunyoga has been given to humanity by the grace of Mahavatar Babaji to strengthen us and provide us with peace within and among ourselves. Sunyogi Umasankar

Country: India, West Bengal

Sunyogi Umasankar was born in 1967 in West Bengal, India. He developed an early interest in yoga, and by 1996, he mastered the practice of Sunyoga, a method for connecting to the divine supreme soul by establishing direct contact with the Sun. At age 5, Sunyogi got frustrated with all the misleading spiritual teachings he encountered and received a message from Mahavatar Babaji: “Build a national highway!”. Since then, his life has focused on sharing an effective spiritual path for humanity. Sunyogi has lived an extraordinary life. He spent over six years barefoot, walking across all the states of India with no possession, living long periods without any food, deriving all his sustenance directly from the Sun.

In 2009, he completed a two-year retreat high up among the snow peaks of the Himalayas, where he had the fortune to meet for the first time in person Mahavatar Babaji, the ageless saint from whom all the Wisdom of Yoga has its roots. Sunyogi returned to the world with more in-depth knowledge about Sunyoga and how it can be applied to heal oneself and the whole Universe. Between 2021-2024 Swamiji went on another retreat at Bhojbasa, above Gangotri. He has gathered more profound wisdom, which he is ready to share. The message is to create Peace, Prosperity, Wisdom, Good Health, unconditional Love and Enlightenment for a future of Universal Unity and Brotherhood.

Axel Johansson

Axel’s journey is as diverse as his background. Hailing from Sweden, he studied Biotechnology (Food & Health) at Chalmers University. Before finding his home in the Yoga practice, he had different jobs. After his studies, he worked as a professional poker player for ten years and has done part-time forestry work. This unique blend of experiences, from academia to professional poker and forestry, has shaped his journey and makes it all the more intriguing.

His journey took him to many countries, each contributing to his self-development. During these travels, he discovered Sunyoga, which has since become the focal point of his life. Axel’s dedication to the Sunyoga Organization (Universal Peace Centre) is unwavering. He is committed to its mission of spreading Universal Peace, Unity, and Brotherhood, which he actively supports. He is often seen travelling with Sunyogi, assisting in conducting the Sunyoga courses, and his leadership as the financial director of the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Universe-city inspires confidence.

Nitin Ahuja

Nitin was born in 1981 in Haryana, India. He received his B.E. in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from MDU Rohtak, Haryana, in 2002 and then completed his Master’s in Technology in Instrumentation Engineering from NIT, Kurukshetra, in 2004. After that, he joined a college as a lecturer. Next, he worked for different companies as an Automation Engineer. His work profile was Software Developer for Testing Machines. He was more diverted toward Spiritual Life during his last 7-8 years. He aims to know the Science of Spirituality – the Mother of All Sciences in this Universe. As a scientist, he wishes to serve the whole world. He has been associated with one spiritual group called “PanchKosh Yogic Science” since 2016 and is trying to learn the science of the 5 Bodies related to ourselves. As Nitin says, that course refined his angle of vision a lot. In 2017, he did a Master’s Diploma in “Panchgavya Therapy.” In that course, he has learned the importance of the Indian Breed Desi Cow (with A2 Milk) and its five products (cow’s dung, urine, milk, curd, and ghee), applicable in our daily Life, and their usefulness in purifying our inner self. He met Swamiji Sunyogi Umasankar during that course and started practising “Sunyoga” in 2017. Like a coin, science also has two faces – theory and practice. Now, by combining theory and practice, from all these spiritual practices, he tries to fill his missing inside in every aspect and help others.

Prashant Bhatt

Country: India

Prashant Bhatt has a Graduate in Law and a Master’s in Business Administration in International Marketing. He is currently working with the Government of Uttar Pradesh State, one of the most populous states of India, in the Finance department as a financial advisor. As a spiritual practitioner, his journey started at the age of 14. Since then, the journey has continued. He has completed Level-4 of Sunyoga. He is also a level 3 teacher of Sunyoga. He successfully gives classes regularly in different places in India and has been guided by Sunyogi to spread the message of Universal Peace and Spiritual Politics. He has researched various fields and developed robust solutions for society, which he has been sharing with Sunyogi.

“Everything that belongs to me is temporary: my name, degrees, achievements. Or it is all to show to others. It means the world outside wants to know my temporary collocation on Earth. Not want to see who I am. My profile, what can it be? Which takes me away from who I am. It takes me away from my co-travellers because I have a specific collection.
If I look at my certificates and degrees, they say I am not learning.
Only I can say here: I am a student learning when my lesson here ends. I am no longer here. Only the wisdom and self-realization – this is what I am sharing.”

Martin Pavlina

Martin Pavlina is a Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong practitioner from Croatia. He is 28 years old and has been practicing martial arts since he was 16, learning from Rada Pašić.

In 2017, he became the Croatian state champion in the senior category in barehanded forms. In January 2018, he was named to the Top Sportsmen of Croatia registry. In 2019, he graduated from the Teacher College at the University of Rijeka with a thesis on the influence of Tai Chi on cognition in elementary school physical education, where he researched the influence of Tai Chi Chuan on the mental state of children. After two months of training with elementary school students, their positive emotions increased significantly, and their negative emotions decreased. This means their perception of life regarding their emotional response changed.

Today, where there are many problems like depression, aggression, and violence, these discoveries are indications for further research. It can be significant for building a more peaceful society because education is one of the main roots of change in society. 

In 2020 Martin competed in the European Wushu Cup and won a bronze medal. He is having Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong classes in Rijeka, Croatia, in the “Sport and Recreation Pantera.” Martin also has an association, the Sport and Recreation Pantera organizes and participates in various actions. They provide programs for children, students, and the elderly the contribution to a more healthy and peaceful society.

Tiyasa Sardar

Tiyasa is 24 years old and lives in Serampore, Hooghly. She participated in the Basic Level Sunyoga Course in April 2021 and the Acupressure Class in March 2021. Since then, she has practised acupressure on herself, and thanks to it, she has cured some problems. Now, she gives free service to others and practices acupressure on four patients.
