Foreword
Dear Divine Brothers and Sisters of the Universe,
Happy New Year, Om Anand Om
December brought us profound reflections on winter Sadhana, captured in the 3-part series theme “Minimum Sun, Maximum Growth.” It was also a month filled with inspiring testimonials, book launches, and life at the ashram. As Swamiji concludes his retreat on January 15, we invite both beginners and experienced practitioners to join us at the UPC Ashram in West Bengal for the Sunyoga Basic Course, the Kalpataru Festival (the biggest ever), and a comprehensive 5-day Acupressure and Healing Course. In February, we will conduct a Basic Sunyoga Course in Vadodara as well.
Meanwhile, we are currently intensifying our search for land for our VKU project and are committed to finalising this the upcoming months.
Our newsletters now include concise summaries that link to deeper blog articles for easier reading.
With love,
Axel and Sunyoga Editorial Board

Three Weeks in Lachipur (Dec 8)

Grateful reflections from three special weeks at Sunyoga Ashram. “First time in Lachipur felt like home; the warm, humid climate, constant village music, and a 3:30 a.m. wake-up asked for surrender and adaptation. Sunyogi’s repeated reminder that ‘we are one family and the ashram belongs to all of us’ became a lived experience through the caring community and his simple, precise daily pointers.” Practising Sunyoga in strong sun at 28–30 degrees often challenged the mind, yet the body was ready, revealing how much of our limitation is mental resistance, not real incapacity.

Six Transformative Spiritual Books Launched (Dec 18)

Universal Peace Centre hosted the launch of six new spiritual books by Shree Shree Swamiji Sunyogi Umasankar JI Maharaj JI on December 15 at the National Press Club, New Delhi. The event highlighted the books as practical guides for inner transformation and national harmony, with dignitaries such as Padma Shree D.R. Kaarthikeyan honouring Swamiji’s contribution to world peace and spiritual science. Together, the six titles deepen understanding of Sunyoga philosophy, daily practice, and the link between individual realisation and collective well-being.
Testimonial – Improvement in Vitamin B12 through Sunyoga (Dec 19)

Vandana Mendhe shares how learning Sunyoga from Swamiji in Vadodara in November 2025 supported a clear improvement in her vitamin B12 levels and overall vitality. After consistent practice, she reports better energy, digestion, and mental clarity, seeing Sunyoga not just as a spiritual path but as a holistic support for physical health. Her story encourages practitioners to approach the method sincerely and give the body time to reflect inner energetic changes.

Minimum Sun, Maximum Growth – Part 1: Cycles (Dec 27)

This first part introduces the central insight that spiritual practice moves in cycles like the seasons, not in a straight upward line. “The Winter Low around the solstice is not failure; it is the time that tests perseverance, building invisible roots so that, when the Sun returns, the branches can rise with resilience.” Minimum Sun does not stop practice but refines discipline, shifting focus from chasing experiences to simply not letting the wheel of sadhana stop turning.

Minimum Sun, Maximum Growth – Part 2: Inner Resistance (Dec 28)

Part 2 turns inward, showing how resistance appears as clever, reasonable thoughts that try to soften discipline in the Winter Low. “The mind whispers: ‘Everyone seems tired; one day won’t matter,’ or ‘The atmosphere isn’t right,’ using care or maturity as a disguise to pause the rhythm of practice.” True strength develops when a seeker recognises these patterns without guilt, chooses to continue anyway, and remembers that sadhana is individual awakening, not imitation of the group mood.

Minimum Sun, Maximum Growth – Part 3: The Real Test of Sadhana (Dec 29)

The final part moves from inner resistance to outer friction in ashram life, teaching that noise and disorder are training grounds, not obstacles. “Ashrams in living rural settings are full of village sounds, animals, festivals, and movement; this is not a defect but the training. Noise itself does not disturb us; our reaction to noise does.” The mind falls into the 5 Cs—Comparing, Confusion, Criticising/Complaining, Craziness, Chaos—while the antidote is living the 5 Ps: Patience, Punctuality, Perfection, Purification, Pleasantness, so that discomfort becomes a mirror that matures individuality into responsibility and service.
