Swamiji on a horse show in Mongolia.

September 2025 was full of blessings, including a full moon eclipse in Slovenia during our Sunyoga Healing Scientific Spiritual Course.* (*the new name for our Sunyoga Basic Course). I was fortunate to be with Sunyogi in France, Slovenia, and Malaysia this month. I would like to acknowledge the tireless efforts of everyone from our community who works tirelessly to make our events happen in numerous countries.  People may not realise something until they meet Swamiji in person: his level of sacrifice and dedication to teaching humanity is truly intense. Thus, starting in June 2026 or 2027 at the latest, Sunyogi will begin focusing more on our Universe-City project and travel less for basic courses. Now is the time to wake up and meet Swamiji in person, while it is still possible!

Sunyoga course in Slovenia.

In Slovenia, people from nine countries (Slovenia, Croatia, France, the USA, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, and India) gathered in a beautiful natural setting, where we also had the pleasure of being in the presence of Sunyoga baby Theodora and her young Austrian parents.  France marked an auspicious return after many years, and following the course, Swamiji even spent the night at my brother’s home, where they shared deep conversations on music. I missed the course in Mongolia, but Swamiji brought us fantastic photos from there.

As we add the final touches to this newsletter, we are currently in Malaysia. The Universal Peace Conference took place last weekend for the first time in Malaysia. This event, our 25th, brought together spiritual masters, healers, and artists from around the world, blending traditions such as Lion Dance, Carnatic music, and Tai Chi.

Today, we are in the midst of an advanced Sunyoga course in Gopeng, a few hours from Kuala Lumpur. On the 4th day of today, Dr Jacqueline, a medical doctor, experienced a remarkable Samadhi. She was so happy and passionate about it that she was screaming out of joy. I also received a very nice gift and had a great experience today, which shocked me. What a beautiful day! May these moments inspire us all to go deeper into each step of life and continue building a more connected universal family. A Month of Spiritual Milestones and Community Growth

by Tiyasa Sardar Lachipur, September 29, 2025 The past month has been a truly special time at the Ashram, filled with divine blessings and vibrant activity. We’ve seen several auspicious milestones on our path of selfless service (seva) and spiritual growth, and the energy here is palpable. WhatsApp Image 2025 09 30 at 23.02.58 One of the highlights was the launch of our Karate class, which finally took off on September 19th and 20th. Thanks to the dedication of the Azad Hind Bahini volunteers, this initiative is not just about physical discipline but also about cultivating inner focus, resilience, and noble courage. It’s wonderful to see the community come together for this.  We also celebrated Mahalaya with great joy, and as if the Goddess herself smiled upon us, a new calf was born into our Ashram family! This little one is a reminder of the goddess’s boundless grace and the beauty of new life.

Newborn calf is happy.

Our efforts towards sustainability are also bearing fruit. We’ve started producing cow dung gas, which is a great way to reduce waste and generate energy. Our vegetable garden is thriving, and our paddy cultivation is looking promising. It’s impressive to see how our labour of love is consecrated as worship and brings us closer to nature. These new beginnings are illuminating our path to universal peace and joy. May this light guide us forward.

UNIVERSAL PEACE CONFERENCE CONCLUSION SPEECH

by Dr. Kiranmaye Jayaraman
JCP 2041

Me at the podium.

Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, Over the past three days, we witnessed a truly historic gathering here in Malaysia – the 25th Universal Peace Conference 2025. This conference brought together spiritual masters, thought leaders, healers, scientists, artists and cultural practitioners from across the world with one shared purpose: to explore peace in all its` dimensions – inner peace, peace with one another and peace with our environment. This event showcased a profound blending of spirituality and culture that touched every heart. The various performances seen, whether sponsored or volunteered, exemplifies the unique multi-cultural diversity existing in Malaysia, a core aspect of the nation’s identity and social fabric.

Day One began with a vibrant inauguration, where Swamiji Sunyogi Umasankar entered the hall accompanied by a traditional Lion Dance and was welcomed by Brother Jim Lai with a garland. It was truly touching to see the Lion dancers bowing before Mahaavatar Babaji as a show of respect during the performance. The morning emphasised unity through dialogue, where inter-faith speakers reminded us of the shared values that bind humanity and the animal beings. In the afternoon, doctors, healers and practitioners shared integrative approaches to health and well-being. The evening concluded with a Carnatic music performance, with a melodious vocal by the singer complemented harmoniously by his musicians and chorus. It was made especially memorable when Swamiji sang “Pullangulal Kodutha Moongilgale” with the ensemble.

The second day began with Agnihotra and Sun Meditation, setting the stage for discussions on peace through governance, responsibility, and ethics. Speakers addressed lessons in leadership, the importance of good policy and new approaches to harmony and healing. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to our relationship with nature, with talks on climate, ecology and reverence for the Earth. The cultural dimension was strong with art, yoga and sound healing presented as bridges that connect cultures. The positive feedback from those who did the one and a half hour Sound Healing session, guided by Master Surijit Singh and his amazing team, whether in sitting or lying down position, shows how certain sound frequencies can bring immediate improvement to our health. The day ended with a graceful Tai Chi performance by Arthur and Ellen Wong, to a classical Indian melody, symbolising a beautiful blending of two cultures. WhatsApp Image 2025 09 19 at 07.34.56 099e6200 On the final day, we began with Agnihotra. The ritual was beautifully explained by Swamiji for us to understand the purpose of performing it and the benefits that can be derived by this simple practice. Sun Meditation was followed by a Yoga session guided by Dr. Rakeshgiri who explained the different asanas and their benefits. We were very grateful to Dr. Rakesh for energising and keeping the audience awake with his short yoga exercises done at regular intervals, in between talks. We then heard from the medical field, highlighting how mental and neurological health is essential foundations for peace. We had guided practices and heartfelt testimonials on Sun Meditation`s transformative power in restoring health, energy and spiritual clarity. Later the Universe City Project was introduced, offering a vision of education and community rooted in universal values. A beautiful Bharathanatyam performance by Bharatha Kalaanjali, concluded the event with graceful and mesmerising dance performances.

We thanked Brother Jim for initiating and bringing the event for the first time to Malaysia, allowing Malaysians the opportunity to attend this event in person. Without his commitment and sponsorship, this would not have been possible. We acknowledged those who worked behind the scenes, those in the background, who operated unseen – the Organising Committee. They were the ones driving around, to distant locations, to find a suitable location to host this event, many a times after a long day at work or on weekends during their free time. They had multiple meetings for months that went on the whole night, contacting and liaising with all the speakers and performers arranging everything, making sure the programme runs smoothly. They were the ones who volunteered their precious time, energy and effort, in sickness or in health, the past few months to make this happen. That is immeasurable and invaluable and often time goes unnoticed. The Organising Committee members were invited to the front and given a standing ovation for all their effort.

Speech from the chief organiser, Dr. Jim Lai.

We had the privilege of having Dr. Rakeshgiri flying in from India to be a part of this event in Malaysia. This was his first trip to this country. We also had the privilege of having Grandmaster Tan and Connie joining us the last three days. To witness both GM Tan and Connie, who are both seasoned Qi Gong healers and teachers with more than three decades of experience taking part in the Agnihotra ritual and all the guided exercises is truly a rare sight. It reflects their personal humility and a deep respect for diversity. This is proof that everyone can explore other cultural practices without the fear of compromising on their own beliefs and core values, fostering a sense of unity that`s much needed in the current times. There were many glitches and inconveniences faced by a few but they dim in comparison to what was learned the last three days. We all know no one is perfect, no system is perfect but there were lessons learned and solutions given. Hopefully Malaysia is given another chance in the near or distant future to host this event again, with Swamiji`s blessings. WhatsApp Image 2025 09 29 at 20.55.35 Finally, is peace easy to attain? No. But we can all start – by attaining inner peace ourselves, sharing that with others, creating a Pygmalion effect. Every single one of us can be that catalyst that sparks a transformation in others, whether as a teacher or as a healer or simply as a compassionate human being. We are not going to fix anything in a day but we can collectively set things in motion. The speaker made a special mention of an interesting Tamil movie, Sarkar, that was released in 2018, highlighting the corruptive voting system. In the movie, the villain, a politician, put forth the question to the hero – “What can your one single vote, do to change this country?” The hero took it as a challenge, used his single vote to influence the people to change their mindset and win the general elections. This is not just a story in a movie. This has happened in real life. That one person, that one vote can move mountains and change the landscape of a nation, of the world. Gandhi did it. Nelson Mandela did it. Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King did it for the black rights movement. Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia`s first Prime Minister, did it with the support of the other races. God bless and may peace bring light to this world. SPEECH PREPARED AND DELIVERED AT UPC CONFERENCE ON THE 21ST SEPT 2025 BY DR. Sunyogi Umasankar Ji’s Visit to France 2025

by Prakash Sunyogi Uma Sankar Ji came to France during the last week of August. Staying in Paris for ten days, he was invited to spend time with devotees and their families. They hosted him in various homes, brought their friends for satsang, and Swamiji even cooked delicious Bengali meals for them on a few occasions.

Enjoying moment in the French forest.

He visited iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Sacré-Cœur, and Place de la Bastille, as well as natural sites like the Buttes-Chaumont, Parc de la Villette, and Vallée de Chevreuse. An introductory Sunyoga session was held in Parc Montsouris, where new practitioners benefited from Swamiji’s guidance through yogasana exercises, sun meditation practice, and spiritual discussions. One afternoon was spent at Fraternité Blanche Universelle, the Parisian ashram of master Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov. This spiritual centre, called Izgrev (meaning “sunrise” in Bulgarian), is located on a hill on the outskirts of Paris. Early in the morning, practitioners have a direct view on the sun rising up from the city to do their meditation. The forest at their back, beautifully coloured buildings, and a panoramic view of Paris – this place is a true sanctuary for spiritual practice. Swamiji was welcomed by the ashram residents for tea and engaged in deep spiritual discussions with them. The devotees were enchanted by his presence and eagerly awaited their next meeting. After a few days of visits, a Sunyoga basic course was held in a spiritual retreat centre an hour away from Paris. The residence was situated in a quiet village close to nature, and the building was constructed specifically for spiritual practices, complete with all suitable amenities. The hosts, food, and weather conditions were all favourable for a successful workshop. A mix of beginners and experienced practitioners attended the gathering, and Swamiji gave us all an extraordinary lesson. Love and truth, energy and wisdom, gentle pats and strong beatings, a very intense moment for newcomers and old devotees alike. For me, even though I had done many Sunyoga workshops before, this was like my first Sunyoga course all over again. An incredible blessing, God’s grace materialised for us by Sunyogi Uma Sankar, thank you.

Autumn leaf in France.

Following the workshop, Swamiji continued touring France for a few days to meet devotees. He went to Sens and visited France’s oldest cathedral, had a nice walk in the countryside, and was welcomed at a friend’s house for satsang. Back in Paris, he visited the newly restored Notre-Dame de Paris, a famous cathedral situated on an island in the centre of the city. He visited the Jardin des Plantes, with its rich display of plants and flowers, and Île Saint-Louis, home to the world-famous Berthillon ice cream. Swamiji’s last day in France was spent in the Fontainebleau forest, a well-preserved natural reserve, where old trees and prehistoric rocks create a beautiful landscape. A quick tour of the castle and a visit to a gemstone museum full of Earth’s wonders, then Swamiji was off to his next destination, Slovenia.

Thank you for coming to our country. As a host, being exposed to a guru’s presence for a few days was a very intense experience. Deeply enjoyable moments, combined with profound teachings, are a real blessing.

Sunyoga in Slovenia from a Different Perspective

By Roswitha

Group from the course in Slovenia.

5 to 7 September 2025: Sun Yoga Basic Workshop in Slovenia (Europe), organised by Sunyoga Hrvatska (Croatia) People used to travel to the Far East searching for a Master to show them the way to self-realisation. This year, we had the blessing to meet Sunyogi Umasankar twice in Europe. The second time we went to Slovenia and spent three days near National Park Škocjan Caves in the valley of the river Reka. Nature was very pure and peaceful. During meditation, you might hear the creek rushing, the wind in the treetops, a goose chattering, a baby laughing or people waking up at the campsite. The composition of the group was unique, too: nine different nations came together to show respect. Hear for yourself now what some participants want to share: IMG 20250905 074931 “It is a rare opportunity to meet an authentic Yogi, a being who speaks and acts according to his moral standards and is aligned in thought, word and action. This summer, we had the great fortune to meet Sri Umasankar twice. Why go to the same seminar twice, you may ask? Well, besides having the blessing of his presence, the level of information is so vast that it is impossible to integrate it all at once. Many teachings, explained from the heart and with experience, leave you yearning for greater clarity and purity. Listening and always hearing something new, something new clicks inside, falls into place. And as for the practical part of the seminar, I noticed how much easier it was to meditate than it had been all those months spent alone. It was like a little jump ahead, happening just on the second day. Add to that the company of beautiful people, who seem to be honest in their practice and goal, and it is amazingly inspiring. And yes, I have a guilt trip on mentioning how good the food was. The seminar went flawlessly; organisation was great, with just the right amount of breaks, because Sri Umasankars words and teachings can be quite intense.”

Berndt the geologist speaking at Sunyoga course.

“I am immensely grateful, blessed and humble. After this seminar, I am truly convinced that Sun Yoga is the way home. It is a great blessing to be in the presence of such a great Yogi Umashankar, to absorb every movement, look, word, and experience that he selflessly shares. Thank you to all the individuals (great souls) who attended the seminar and contributed to a united atmosphere and energy focused on a single goal. Thank you to every grass, flower, river, guitar, food. The seminar is aptly titled ‘healing’ because it truly heals on multiple levels. Thanks from the heart.” IMG 20250907 082828 “Going back for the second time to the beginner’s course of Sun Yoga this year, I was feeling joyous and blessed to meet Swamiji again in such a short time. I was not afraid, as it was for the first time when I went to the seminar, but rather at peace, knowing I would be once again in the presence of an enlightened Yogi living and speaking among us for a few days, and among great friends, people who feel to me like spiritual family. The atmosphere of the beautiful ranch in Slovenia where we had the course for three days was so peaceful and supportive of all the meditations and lectures. Just being in the presence of Swamiji and doing Sun Yoga meditation every morning was so peaceful. My impression was as if being in the presence of the sun the whole day, the light was powerful to remove all the darkness of confusion, doubt and worries and bring clarity of vision and purpose in life. My petty life’s problems did not seem so important at all as I was fully immersed in the teaching that is so powerful. I am very grateful to the organiser, Martin Pavlina, for giving so much to make everything run smoothly. I am very grateful to Swamiji for his loving patience and guidance, for coming all this way again to give us so much for the progress of our lives. I am also deeply touched by all the people in the seminar who shared their life journeys wholeheartedly. I feel supported in continuing with Sun Yoga in my everyday life, knowing that there will be challenges. Still, there in the light I am always coming back to, giving in to it as fully as I can, I am small yet, and I want to expand more even when I don’t see all of my capabilities yet.” Thank you very much. Wish everybody higher success, and hope to see you again on an advanced course in 2026!

Art: A Reflection of Our Inner Self and a Bridge to the Divine

Satsang of Swamiji Umasankar
IMG 20250901 104433

Swamiji is going on a train trip in France.

Art, a timeless reflection of our inner self, channels emotions, realisations, and spiritual depths into visible and audible forms—paintings, songs, stories, and beyond. Through art, we can ultimately mirror the universe if we have enlightened our awareness, the ultimate creator, whose essence is continuously expressed in infinite shapes. Humanity depicts reality through art’s sacred cycle of expansion, contraction, and balance, connecting human consciousness to the divine source.

Art as Therapy and Universal Expression

Art is therapy. It allows us to release emotions and insights that are too vast to contain within ourselves and would otherwise make us suffer. Every person, whether or not they call themselves an “artist,” expresses their inner self through gestures, conversations, or creative acts. However, expression carries responsibility: positive expressions uplift, whereas negative ones—such as works of despair that glorify suffering—degrade and can confuse others. True art transforms into harmony and guides others toward growth. That kind of art is good to display. Lower forms of expression can be helpful for ourselves as a form of therapy, but they can be destructive when shared with others, so we should limit that kind of expression for others. Just as colours shift in a rainbow, the wavelength vibrations of light, artistic expression reflects the inner self’s current vibration during its evolving journey toward universal truth. IMG 20250902 105839

The Threefold Art: A Reflection of Our Inner Self

All art follows an inner cosmic law of three movements: expansion, contraction, and balance. Expansion draws inspiration from the vast universe, where seeds of creativity are born. Contraction brings these seeds into manifestation. Balance then harmonises the two, producing works that resonate with natural law and endure beyond time.
IMG 20250901 143436

Garden in France.

The five methods of creative writing and composition illuminate this process, and they can be seen clearly in both song and painting:
  • Alap: the introduction, setting the mood and drawing inspiration from future-to-present vision. In a song, it is the slow, opening notes of a raga that awaken the atmosphere and prepare the heart.
  • Sthai: the recurring core theme or refrain—the steady anchor that repeats. In a song, this is the refrain that listeners return to, holding the central truth.
  • Antara: the detailed expression of emotion and intellect. In a song, this is the verse where emotions unfold in detail.
  • Sanchari: the development and transformation. In a song, the bridge is the part that shifts the mood, exploring new directions and taking the song in a new direction.
  • Return: the resolution, reconnecting with the central theme, closing the circle. In a song, it is the return to the refrain, resolving tension into harmony.
Just as a song moves through these stages, so too does all true art. Works that remain trapped in contraction—expressions of darkness without healing—cannot uplift. Balanced art, however, becomes timeless, offering a sacred mirror of the divine inner self.

Memory, Legacy, and Long Life Through Art

The physical body is temporary, but art gives awareness a long life. Great poets, singers, and spiritualists continue to live through their works, their consciousness echoing across centuries. When art is aligned with universal truth, it carries living awareness that transcends time, keeping its essence alive in collective memory. This is why true art cannot die—it expands back to the universe and becomes part of humanity’s shared heritage.

The Divine Purpose of Art

When aligned with higher consciousness, art becomes sacred service. It channels divine truth to uplift humanity. Great creators of the past show that art rooted in realisation endures, carrying life-force energy that artificial or destructive works lack. Modern cultural systems that glorify chaos, ego, or nihilism distort this purpose, leaving audiences in a state of confusion rather than elevation. True art dissolves ego and reminds the artist: I am not the source; I am the channel. When we feel “I am the doer” of the artistic expression, we have a problem. IMG 20250905 075126

Art, Philosophy, and Cosmic Law

Art and philosophy must both follow cosmic law. Without it, they collapse into hollow forms. The artist who balances expansion, contraction, and harmony becomes a vessel of divine order. By reflecting universal truth, their creations resonate deeply, carrying the power to heal, teach, and awaken consciousness across generations.

Art’s Societal and Cultural Role

Art not only shapes individuals but also cultures. It encodes truth in symbols, transmits wisdom, and strengthens collective resilience. Societies flourish when art reflects natural law, but decay when art promotes distortion or disconnection from reality. To foster collective awakening, culture must encourage works that reflect the inner self’s alignment with the universe, rather than those that celebrate chaos and disorder.
IMG 20250910 125940 1

A chess board in Mongolia.

Conclusion: Art’s Sacred Cycle

Art is more than expression—it is a sacred cycle of therapy, realisation, and service. Through expansion, contraction, and balance, guided by the five methods of Alap, Sthai, Antara, Sanchari, and Return, the artist is healed and humanity is uplifted. Art begins with inspiration, explores emotion, transforms, and finally returns to its essence. In this way, art reflects the soul’s journey in harmony with cosmic law, ensures memory beyond physical life, and fulfils its highest calling: a mirror of the soul, a force for healing, and a living bridge to the divine. Life is an art in itself, and nature is a great expression of divine art.
