Foreword
Dear Divine Brothers and Sisters of the Universe,
Swamiji has been in Europe throughout May, offering courses, and this will continue into June. On June 22, he will return to India to celebrate his birthday with a special event at the Ashram, followed by a series of courses conducted there.
As of now, no Basic Sunyoga courses are planned in India, as Swamiji is scheduled to travel abroad in July, August, and September. Keep yourself updated as we will update our schedule with new courses. Meanwhile, we are finalising the dates for our Universal Peace Conference in Kuala Lumpur from 18-21 September—we look forward to welcoming many of you there!
Also, the Ashram is currently seeking an administrator. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be fluent in Bengali and Hindi. If you know someone suitable, please connect them with Tiyasa at +91 90381 72001. This is an excellent opportunity to combine spiritual practice with meaningful service.
We are currently developing a completely new website to replace our existing one. The goal is to simplify navigation and facilitate seamless payment integration. Hopefully, we will have it finished soon.

Sunyoga Course in Croatia, the Island of Krk
by Mare
The Sunyoga course was a three-day seminar held in Croatia on the island of Krk at the Lotus Resort, a beautiful retreat centre immersed in nature. It was a great blessing to have Swamiji Sunyogi Umashankar personally come to Croatia to conduct the course. The participants were a wonderful group of individuals of all ages seeking more profound meaning and healing in their lives. Some were experienced Sunyoga practitioners, while others had spent years practising various techniques, all drawn to the mysteries and power of sun energy. Many attendees came from neighbouring countries, such as Slovenia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as some from the former Yugoslavia. It was a beautiful experience to see them gather under the protection and friendship of the Sun.

On the first day, participants met one another, and Swamiji Sunyogi Umashankar reviewed the three-day schedule. These strangers became like a big family throughout the course, connecting more profoundly through Sun meditation and Swamiji’s guidance. Each day began with Yogasana at 6 o’clock with the rising sun. Many participants expressed feeling more relaxed and lighter in their bodies after just a few exercises. By the time meditation began, everyone was eager for a new experience. After meditation, participants felt refreshed and energised for the day ahead.

The meals were prepared by Željko Đorđević Shrivas, a talented Ayurvedic chef from Rijeka and the owner of the vegetarian restaurant Makrovega, which made the entire experience even more holistic. Martin Pavlina, a longtime Sunyoga practitioner, diligently translated Swamiji’s thoughts, giving the experience a natural feel. Thanks to his organisation and management, everything ran smoothly and successfully.

Many attendees had numerous questions for Swamiji, and by the end of the lectures, they received answers—I included. I recalled some of Swamiji’s phrases and happily exclaimed, “I have been wondering about this topic for years, and now I finally have answers!” After a delightful dinner, we sang our favourite bhajans and kirtans. We also enjoyed hearing Swamiji sing his beautiful song “Ek Tumi Adhar.”

The lectures left me in awe, as Swamiji scientifically explained how meditation and consciousness expansion are factual phenomena—there is an entire universe within us. It made me reflect on what we are genuinely searching for outside ourselves: the root causes of suffering or finding bliss and happiness within. My understanding of life seemed relatively small, and I felt humbled. The things I thought were important began fading away after the seminar. Questions like “Who am I? Why am I here? What is the purpose of my life?” are vital inquiries that no one teaches us in schools. Life feels like a wonder and awaits rediscovery, like a child filled with innocence and curiosity. Every meditation presents a new experience, like a new dawn—none are the same.

Practising Sunyoga leaves me feeling more complete. With each sincere longing and heart opening, I marvel at how unique we all are, as Swamiji emphasised. We cannot compare ourselves to one another because we are all very special—that is the beauty of Creation. At the end of the seminar, Swamiji and our host at the Lotus Retreat Centre, Professor Ivo Orlic, had an extraordinary meeting, sharing experiences and scientific backgrounds. A sense of great friendship and respect developed between them. All participants expressed their heartfelt gratitude, making pranams to Swamiji. I felt a great sense of peace and blessing at his feet; my mind quieted, and a wave of relief washed over me.

The seminar concluded with a wonderful trip to Plitvice Lakes National Park. We all enjoyed another joyful day walking for eight hours with Swamiji; it felt like a piece of cake. He demonstrated through his example how life can be beautiful, simple, and fun, embodying a childlike spirit of play and innocence, free of judgment, and fostering great friendships through Sunyoga. The course encouraged us to discover the power within ourselves, to be original rather than imitative. Sunyoga offers a profound experience of opening the heart, surrendering, and deep relaxation from the worries and troubles we face in everyday life.
A Journey Into Sunlight: My First Experience with Sunyoga
by Barbara Marić
I attended the first level of Sunyoga for the first time. Already upon arrival, I was positively surprised by the place — there was a sense of peace, gratitude, and simplicity. The warm welcome, the incredible energy of Sunyogi Umasankar, his liveliness, sincerity, and gentleness, all began to reflect within me more and more each day.

I observed how effortlessly I could disconnect from my everyday environment, relax, and follow the energy that surrounded us so beautifully through Sunyogi’s presence. Immense gratitude, peace, and respect for the universal truth — these left a strong impression on me.

His joy in sharing the method of sun meditation inspired trust within me, along with an inner strength to embrace it without fear and to introduce a new routine into my life, filled with gratitude and a renewed appreciation for the sun. I surrendered to the experience and received a tremendous amount of new awareness.
Thank you to all of you — the organisers for a fantastic venue, your warm-hearted presence, delicious food, and all participants — for this wonderful experience.
Successful Completion of Sunyoga Introductory Class in ECR Chennai, Tamil Nadu
By Suresh Kumar
🙏🌹🕉 Sri Gurubhyo Namaha.
We are delighted to share that, thanks to the boundless blessings of our Poojya Gurudev Sri Umashankar Babaji, a Sunyoga introductory class (Level 1) was successfully conducted in ECR Chennai, Tamil Nadu, from May 23 to 25, 2025, by Suresh Kumar.

The introductory Sunyoga class was scheduled from 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM each day. However, with deep interest and devotion from the participants, the sessions often extended by 1–2 hours, focusing intensely on both theory and practical applications. Special emphasis was placed on practical training to prepare students mentally and physically for Gurudev’s Basic Course (Level 1-3), planned for January 2026.

A total of 8 members participated in the Sunyoga class, experiencing a profound new connection with the Sun. This was just a traditional class, but a transformative experience that moved them beyond the conventional view of the Sun as a distant deity, towards a living, conscious relationship with the Sun, as taught by our beloved Gurudev.

The participants were able to experience deeper bliss and a reduction in hunger for food, and they achieved Samadhi during the first session of sun yoga meditation, resulting in a profound transformation within them after receiving the wisdom of Sunyoga.

Upon completing the course, participants expressed a desire for additional classes in various areas. This was a residential, introductory course, and participants offered voluntary contributions as a form of Gurudakshina. We are deeply grateful for their generosity.

🙏🌹🕉 We humbly seek Gurudev’s blessings for the successful conduct of the future Basic and Advanced Classes, which we are eagerly looking forward to.
Om Anand Om. 🌹🙏🕉

Journey within: My Experience at a 7-Day Sunyoga Teacher Training Workshop
by Mohsen
This month, I had the privilege of attending a transformative 7-day Sunyoga Teacher Training Workshop, an immersive experience that reshaped my understanding of yoga, consciousness, and our connection to the cosmos.

From day one, the training instilled discipline and punctuality—our days began at 4:00 am and concluded by 8:00 pm. This structure wasn’t just a schedule; it was a silent teacher, reminding us of the rhythm and commitment required to walk the yogic path.
Laying the Foundation: The First Steps
The workshop began with a clear and detailed explanation of Sunyoga fundamentals. We explored the foundational principles of traditional yoga: posture (asana), breath (pranayama), focus (dharana), and inner stillness (dhyana). These were not just theoretical lessons—each idea was accompanied by practice, reflection, and dialogue.

What made this workshop stand out was the emphasis on practical training. Every participant was invited to conduct mock teaching sessions, helping each of us internalise the techniques while building confidence to guide others. The space was non-judgmental and supportive, enabling growth not just as practitioners but as teachers.

Cosmic Harmony: From the Sun to the Self
Midway through the week, our attention shifted to the macrocosmic dimensions of Sunyoga. We examined how sunlight, acting as a subtle carrier of divine energy, initiates the process of elemental creation—earth, water, fire, air, and space. From these elements arises life itself.

This led us to profound discussions on the purpose of life in the Sunyoga tradition: to channel energy back to its source by aligning the individual consciousness with the universal consciousness. As we practiced sun meditation (Surya Dhyana), we began to feel that subtle merging, that sense of dissolving boundaries between self and cosmos.

One is Many, Many is One
The closing days of the training were both humbling and enlightening. We were reminded again and again that individual identity is a wave in the vast ocean of universal being. The timeless truth echoed throughout the sessions: “One is many, and many is one.”
This wasn’t just a poetic phrase—it was a living experience. Through disciplined practice, shared wisdom, and cosmic awareness, we gained insight into the unity underlying all diversity.

Final Reflections
This Sunyoga Teacher Training was more than a workshop—it was an initiation into a new way of living and perceiving. As I now return to my daily routine, I carry with me the light of the sun, the clarity of purpose, and the gentle power of unity.
I encourage anyone drawn to deeper spiritual practice to consider Sunyoga not just as a method, but as a path to reconnecting with the source of life itself.
